As a designated National Historic Site, Craigdarroch Castle is an exceptional place to enjoy a special reeception. As your guests arrive through the Porte-Cochere Entrance and enter the Main Hall, they immediately encounter the magnificent sweeping open oak staircase rising four floors to the Dance Hall.

Indoor Wedding Packages at The Castle

In keeping with the Dunsmuir daughters lavish and elegant weddings we have created some sample options for you to choose from.

 

Our comprehensive packages allow for 3 hours use of The Castle for photos, an indoor ceremony and reception with a selection of Hors d’oeuvres with 2 beverage servings per person. In addition you get 1 hour prior to your wedding day for rehearsal. If you prefer, you may customize your own wedding at The Castle. We can provide you with the names of approved caterers and musicians to provide just the right touch to your special evening.

 

‘Simply Yours’ Elopement or Photo Package
If you’re looking for something simple why not have one hour in The Castle for a small ceremony or photo session? Your ceremony starts right after we close for the day and there is allowance for up to 10 people plus access to all public spaces for photographs. Perfect for an intimate ceremony or simply a photo shoot for those wanting access to a unique location, this is an affordable option for photographers, couples or small weddings. This option does not include the ability to add on extras such as access behind barriers, moving of artifacts, or set up for food and bar service.
Cost: $300 plus taxes

 

‘Satin and Lace’ Package
In 1886 Emily Dunsmuir’s dress of embroidered satin and imported lace was the height of fashion. This package includes:

  • Site inspection and meeting with a Society manager
  • 1hour rehearsal time for the wedding party (booked in advance)
  • Admission for a maximum of 20 people (including wedding party)
  • Access to all public areas of the Castle
  • all onsite parking spots exclusively for guest use
  • Indoor stand up ceremony
  • Stand up reception with hors d’oeuvres and champagne (Menu upon request)
  • Tea, coffee and soft drinks
  • Staging area for the wedding party
  • Indoor and outdoor non-commercial photo rights
  • Use of cd player
  • Bar/beverage station for a cash bar and drop tables
  • Society manager and staff on site during the rental time to facilitate your event
  • All decorations and flowers are to be supplied by the renter and are subject to the approval of the Society.

Starting from $3550.00 plus taxes.
(Damage deposit and General Liability Insurance Policy required.)

 

‘Bejewelled’ Package
Maud Dunsmuir’s jewel encrusted wedding gown set a new standard of elegance in 1889. This package includes:

  • Site inspection and meeting with a Society manager
  • 1 hour rehearsal time for the wedding party (booked in advance)
  • Admission for a maximum 40 people (including wedding party)
  • Access to all public areas of the Castle
  • 34 onsite parking spots exclusively for guest use
  • Indoor stand up or sit down ceremony
  • Stand up reception with hors d’oeuvres and champagne (Menu upon request)
  • Tea, coffee and soft drinks
  • Staging area for wedding party
  • Indoor and outdoor non-commercial photo rights
  • Use of cd player (option of having 2 hours of live music – extra charges apply)
  • Bar/beverage station for a cash bar (white wine or beer) and drop tables, garbage & recycling bins
  • Gift reception table
  • Society manager and staff on site during the rental time to facilitate your event

All decorations and flowers are to be supplied by the renter and are subject to approval of the Society.

‘Spectacular’ Package
Jessie Dunsmuir’s spectacularly excessive wedding in 1891 was the social event of the year with 30 bridesmaids and 300 guests.

  • Create you own spectacular event by hosting up to 200 people.
  • Choose your menu from our list of approved caterer’s and celebrate the evening with live music.
  • Whether you just want photos and a reception or everything at the Castle we can help you plan the special evening.

Costs are dependant on your requirements and a premium may be charged for events, which require the museum to close early.
