James Knight Nesbitt joined the Victoria Times newspaper in 1925. Many years as a reporter provided access to
social and political circles where he heard discussions about the fate of Craigdarroch Castle. Some talked about
tearing down the Castle or making it the home of the Premier. Mr. Nesbitt hated those ideas and in 1959 formed
the Castle Preservation Society now the Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society.
